Well.
We meet again.
I'm back. I know no one reads this but me, but I keep writing up these posts because... I don't know. I guess it's a way to take out my stress on some things. Except I'm not stressed right now. I just feel the need to write something, and I'm too lazy too continue my book (see paragraph 3) because it kind of lost its luster after the first two paragraphs.
Well, a lot of things happened between my last post and now. I became a little nerdier, I think. I've been watching the vlogbrothers a lot (DFTBA) and listening to ALL CAPS and the Ministry of Magic. And I think I've had an effect on my brother. He now listens to the Oceanic Six (I don't because I haven't started LOST yet. I am SO behind!) and I showed him some ALL CAPS songs and he liked them, I think. He thinks wizard rock is weird for some reason, though. He didn't love Harry Potter as much as I do, but he still enjoyed it. I've been listening to a lot of chiptune music too, lately. You know: Anamanaguchi, Henry Homesweet!, ComputeHer, 8 Bit Weapon, etc. I'm not sure why, but I always consider that nerd music too. I guess because it reminds me of video games. The old Nintendo kind, like Pokemon.
Oh, and this is tragic: I lost my Pokemon game! I was JUST about to beat the Elite Four, then my mum let me little sister play my GameBoy, and she lost the game! (just like you did.) DX
And no, I wasn't lying up there in the first paragraph thing. I AM working on a book. If I had to be a nerd about anything educational other than reading, I'd pick history. Actually, I already AM a history nerd. The book I'm working on takes place in the Skara Brae area in, like, ancient times. If you don't know where that is, Google it. Or if your religion doesn't permit you to use Google (wtf kind of religion is that?), look for the asterisk (*, for all you people who didn't know) at the bottom.
Well, I'm actually debating going back and changing it. I read this really good book (Thirst Book 1 by Christopher Pike) and not to plagiarize, but it gave me an idea. Now, it wouldn't be about a vampire who likes to kill people all the time, but I loved how the main character had flashbacks to before she became immortal or to right after, even though most of the book takes place in modern times. I thought it was really well written.
So, maybe I'll do something like that. I don't plan to EVER publish it, though. I just write for fun. Plus, it'd be way too plagiarized DX XD
So what I'm going to do (getting my thoughts down has helped me make up my mind) is make the character remember her past, and things she did, etc. I'm not sure what the modern-day conflict is going to be (in the draft that took place entirely in the past, it was going to be about evacuating Skara Brae because of flooding and storms, maybe having to go down to the Brittania area and trying to live there, maybe getting attacked by Brittanian tribes. I'm not sure. =p)
*Skara Brae- a Neolithic settlement on the west coast of Orkney, Scotland. Europe's most complete Neolithic village (discovered so far). Nicknamed the Scottish Pompeii because it was covered by sands and dirt blown from storms over the nearby ocean, just as Pompeii was flooded with ash. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skara_Brae
DFTBA, PLUR, and lessthanthree. = )
